Check a tilted document photo before making a PDF

Making a page rectangular does not by itself make it readable. Check the capture, correction area and page arrangement separately to avoid missing content.

1. Correction cannot recover a clipped-out line

Capture all four corners and every required word. Consider another photo if glare or camera shake hides text. Keep the original and work on a copy. Check whether sensitive document contents are appropriate to share.

2. Put the four points on the paper boundary

In Document correction, place the points on the actual corners and inspect the perspective-corrected result. Table lines and vertical strokes should look natural. Including the desk can stretch the page incorrectly. Do not assume the correct boundary was determined automatically.

3. Watch fine detail when adjusting brightness

Lightening shadows can also remove pencil marks or stamps. Black-and-white output may remove meaningful colors, so use it only when appropriate. Appearance correction does not guarantee text recognition or reconstruction of missing content.

4. Review the PDF page by page

Check first and last pages, order and orientation, then zoom in to read small text. If edge text is clipped, adjust the correction area before combining the PDF. Check the receiver’s page limit and the actual saved file as well.

Before-and-after checks

  1. Capture: all corners, text and stamps visible
  2. Correction: set four points on paper, excluding the desk
  3. PDF: check order, orientation, clipping and small text

Numbers are illustrative, not institutional requirements or measured results.
