Three things to do after tapping Download on your phone
Tapping Download and saving a file are different events. A preview may show your result while another app receives the original. Use the saved file for your final check.
1. Find the saved file
Look in the browser’s downloads list or file manager. Safari downloads on iPhone and iPad can be found in the Files app’s Downloads folder; location may depend on settings. On Android, check your browser and file app’s download location. Absence from the photo gallery alone does not prove failure.
2. Reopen the result
Check orientation, content and format. For similar original and result names, also compare sizes and modification times. After HEIC-to-JPG conversion, check that the receiving app opens it. Extract ZIP output before selecting individual files.
3. Select the result in the receiving app
Choose the file again on the submission page or in a messaging app and inspect its preview. An app may transform images when sending them. For strict byte or pixel limits, check the delivery method and receiving instructions. A settings link does not share the resulting photo.
4. Keep originals and results separate
Keep the original independently and pass only reviewed results to the next task. Start from the original when compressing again. Pan in 100% view to inspect details, but device selection and saving behavior vary. Reopening the saved file on your own device is the final check.
