The HEIC feature uses libheif-js 1.23.5, libheif 1.23.5 and libde265 1.0.15. These libraries are free software under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3 or later. They are distributed without any warranty; see the license texts, which include the applicable LGPL/GPL terms and copyright notices. Emscripten runtime components retain their MIT/University of Illinois NCSA notices.

Build and replace the library

The separate libheif.js and libheif.wasm files are copied unmodified from the npm libheif-js 1.23.5 distribution. Version and SHA-256 manifest.

The supplied libheif-emscripten source contains the exact CI workflow. Place the supplied libheif source in its libheif directory. The workflow uses Emscripten 3.1.61, libde265 1.0.15, USE_WASM=1 and USE_UNSAFE_EVAL=0. Follow its .github/workflows/emscripten.yml, libheif/scripts/run-ci.sh and libheif/build-emscripten.sh instructions to rebuild. The libheif-js source's scripts/install.js and scripts/bundle.js document packaging and minification. No custom changes were made to these library sources.

The application loads the two files dynamically at these stable paths. To test a modified compatible library, serve a local copy of the application and replace these two files; no signature or runtime integrity lock prevents replacement. The application wrapper source is heic-worker.js and heic-client.js. Reverse engineering for debugging modifications to the LGPL libraries is permitted. Library modification and redistribution rights are governed by their licenses.
